Introduction of Bitter Melon Peptide
Bitter Melon Peptide is a bioactive small-molecule peptide derived from the mature fruits and seeds of Momordica charantia L., a medicinal and edible plant widely cultivated in tropical and subtropical regions. As a modern processed product of medicinal and edible ingredients, it retains bitter melon’s core active components while solving the low bioavailability and bitter taste issues of traditional bitter melon products.
Raw Material Source: Our raw materials come from certified organic plantations with strict environmental control, free of pesticides, heavy metals and GMOs. Selected bitter melon varieties are rich in active substances, harvested at optimal ripening and processed by low-temperature drying and impurity removal.
Extraction Process: Adopting patented enzymatic hydrolysis and ultrasound-assisted countercurrent extraction, the process includes pretreatment, alkaline enzymatic hydrolysis, purification and freeze-drying (to retain activity and solubility). Conducted at 40-60℃, it complies with GMP, ISO 9001 and FDA GRAS standards.
Active Ingredient Content: Peptide content is customizable (30%-90%), with small-molecule peptides (<1000 Da) accounting for ≥80% (200-800 Da optimal). It also retains charantin (≥10%), polypeptide-P, flavonoids and amino acids for synergistic effects.
Differentiated Advantages: Compared with traditional bitter melon extracts, it has three core advantages:
① High bioavailability (≥90%, direct absorption);
② Low irritability, no bitter taste or gastrointestinal discomfort;
③ Multi-component synergy. It is additive-free, meeting global clean-label trends.
Key Active Compounds
Bitter melon peptide’s bioactivity comes from synergistic active compounds, including:
-
Polypeptide-P: A bitter-melon peptide studied for healthy glucose metabolism support, with binding affinity for cellular receptors involved in carbohydrate handling.
-
Charantin: A classic triterpenoid, it inhibits intestinal α-glucosidase, slows sugar absorption and flattens postprandial blood sugar peaks.
-
Bitter Melon Saponins (Momordin): Studied for pancreatic-cell support and antioxidant activity.
-
Amino Acid Complex: Contains essential and non-essential amino acids, regulating glucose metabolism and enhancing liver glycogen synthesis.
-
Flavonoids and Polyphenols: Possess strong antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activities, scavenging free radicals and reducing cell damage.
Benefits
Supported by preclinical and clinical studies, bitter melon peptide offers the following key benefits:
-
supports healthy glucose metabolism Levels: Multi-target synergy (promotes glucose uptake, inhibits α-glucosidase, protects islets) helps maintain stable blood sugar and reduce long-term metabolic wellness.
-
Improves Metabolic Health: supports healthy metabolism, reduces bad cholesterol and triglycerides, and assists in weight management by inhibiting fat absorption.
-
Enhances Antioxidant Capacity: Flavonoids and polyphenols scavenge free radicals, delay cell aging and protect against oxidative damage-related diseases.
-
Supports Immune Function: Small-molecule peptides and amino acids nourish immune cells, enhancing resistance to pathogens.
-
Gentle and Safe: Natural plant-derived, low allergenicity, no toxic side effects, suitable for long-term consumption by most groups.
